Jobs For 14 Year Olds - Your Options For Getting a Job As a Teenager

Many people think jobs for 14 year olds are not easy to get. But as a teenager there are two ways you can get a job.

1. The first way is to apply for a job. To do this you will need to fill out an application form or write an application letter and send it to the company you want to work for. To find out which companies are looking for teenagers to work, you can either look in the local newspaper or simply go to a company where you would like to work and ask if they are hiring teens. They may or may not invite you for an interview
2. A second way to find a job is to look around in your neighborhood for a business opportunity. Then, write down a plan how you think you can turn this opportunity into profit. This way you can become an entrepreneur at a young age. If your small business succeeds it may even bring you more profit than you ever dreamed of. Maybe the business is going to last for a long time and becomes your primary stream of income when you are an adult.

Applying for a job

If you choose to apply for a job there are several things that you need to keep in mind.

* As mentioned above it is easy to apply for a job if you look for companies that employ teenagers of your age. But do not try applying for jobs where the minimum age they require is above your age. It is just a waste of time.
* Not having experience is not a reason not to apply for a job. Remember, you are young so people do not expect you to have a lot of experience. This is a good opportunity for you to get experiences. While you are earning money you are also learning what the working life is really like.
* Some of the possibilities for a teenager are: working as a waiter, a cashier, a tutor, or doing some easy administrative tasks, depending on the skills and the abilities that you have.

Starting your own business

When starting your own little teen business, there are also some things that you will have to keep in mind.

* Finding a problem in your neighborhood and thinking of a solution for it is a good start. You can also create special or customized gifts for special occasions. Most of the time, the least expensive business is providing a service to other people.
* You will not know if you are going to be successful if you never give it a try. Nobody said it was easy to do. But it usually is worth it. You will learn a lot and also earn money.
* Some businesses you can consider are: providing traditional services like babysitting, car washing, dog walking etc. You can also think about designing logo's or websites, selling handmade products etc.

Another great option is to look for online jobs on the internet. One of these jobs is doing surveys. You get paid just for giving you opinion about products and services you would use anyway. Click Here! to sign up for FREE and start making money today.
